The Evolution of Medicine is excited to present our first Functional Forum in Boulder, CO. Drawing on the amazing talent in the city of Boulder, we bring you speakers on the hottest topic in integrative and functional medicine: Gut Health.
This is an excellent presentation on gut health. The first speaker is Sayer Ji of GreenMedInfo.com on how recent scientific discoveries have overturned the very foundations of approaches of the medical establishment. The second speaker discusses a few case studies in healing, including a patient with Crohn’s disease (which she herself had). The third discusses the gut-brain axis and the importance of managing stress and mindful eating.
Healing the gut is important not just for problems like Crohn’s, but for pretty much any autoimmune disease. Autoimmunity starts in the gut, and if you have an autoimmune disease, you pretty much by definition have leaky gut (or intestinal hyperpermeability as it is otherwise referred to in the medical literature).
Incidentally, the woman sitting next to Sayer Ji in the front row is Dr. Kelly Brogan, who is an acquaintance of mine and has had this to say about me, with regard to my reporting on the issue of vaccines:
What has been less explored is the collusive role of the media in generating public beliefs about mental illness and its best treatment.
I dare say that journalists have gotten either very lazy, very scared, or both. It is a rare journalist – like Jeremy Hammond, or Sheryl Attkisson – who actually digs deep for the truth on a matter. Most interview only the most accessible mainstream mouthpieces, look no further than industry-influenced professional associations, and parrot orthodox catch-phrases that only serve to manipulate public fear rather than clarify the nature of a given dilemma.
Pretty high honor!
